A
birm filter is used to treat iron. Your water's iron levels and pH
(acidic water) determine if a birm filter is right for you. Benefits
of a birm filter include:
- Requires no salt or regenerative chemicals
- Will filter out sediment too.
- Completely automatic
- Self-cleaning
- Easy to maintain
- Five year warranty against defects on the valve (excludes labor).
- Highly durable tank with a ten year warranty against defects
(excludes labor).
How It Works
Birm (oxidizing-catalyst) converts clear soluble iron to
insoluble red iron, then traps the iron inside the filter tank. The iron is discharged with the
wastewater during the backwash cycle.
Eventually, it becomes "spent" and will need replacing.
